will obey me on this, honey. Or I will withhold sexual favors until

you’re well enough to chase me.”

He bit his lip and nodded. Then he pulled me closer against him

with his good arm, and he started thinking that he wasn’t about to say

no when I was offering him everything. Smart man.

“Hey guys,” Horse said with a weak smile as he came back in the

room. “I’ve got the list of what Justice will need and how we can help

him at the house. I called some of the guys and we’re going to get

your room set up for him, Cave. Can we go by your apartment and

pack up your stuff, Justice?”

“No, you could get hurt,” he gasped and started to shake.

“Darlin’, believe me when I say that I hope someone tries shit

with us,” Horse drawled and gave a wink. “You’ve not seen what

we’re capable of yet, but you will. I’ve shown my big ol’ mate how

we move and what we can do. He can’t even catch me in a fight,

much less hit me.”

“Your mate tries to hit you?” Justice paled and glanced at me.

“How are you okay with this?”

“No, no, Bren would never hit me, hit me.” Horse chuckled. “I

mean when we’ve sparred or wrestled.” He wiggled his eyebrows at

the implication. “I had to show my mate that little doesn’t mean

helpless.”

“Okay, then.” Justice snickered but still looked a little confused as

to what my friend meant. “There’s a bag on the floor of the closet

there. The nurse said that’s where my personal stuff is that they took

off me in the emergency room.”

“Good deal. We’ll get everything ready for when you come home

tomorrow,” Horse said brightly. I thanked my friend and tried to give

him one of the cards to my personal accounts but he waved it off. We

never kept track of money with each other. It wasn’t like we had

separate checks when we went out or anything. Everyone just did

their part and no one abused each other’s kindness and they returned

it in like. It was a nice way to live life.
